Some career paths are mapped out from the start. Others take unexpected twists and turns. For Lisa, the path to building design was sparked by a single, lightbulb moment: the realisation that she could channel her lifelong love of drawing, sculpting and hands-on creative projects with the technical precision of architectural design.
Lisa’s approach to design is deeply influenced by the values she grew up with. Raised in a close-knit Australian-Italian family, she learned the importance of hard work, resourcefulness and the magic of collaboration. From family traditions like salami-making to gathering around the bonfire on Guy Fawkes night, this strong sense of family, community and everyone pitching in to make ‘something great from nothing’ guides her work and her personal mantra:
“Leave wherever you are in a better state than when you got there. Leave people feeling better than before you saw them.”
Joy is a word Lisa uses often, and it’s evident in her work: it’s in the details, the shared laughter, and the way a well-designed home can transform everyday life. When she’s not designing you’ll find Lisa gardening, baking or on weekend getaways in the camper trailer exploring the great outdoors with her kids. And yes, the annual salami-making tradition is still going strong!
